Big O 5-8-2010
Temp-89
Water Temp-87
Wind-5-10 se
Water Clarity- 2-3 ft
Hit the ramp at 7:00 to about 100 boats (flw tour). Once we got in the water, I decided to head on down to the Monkey Box. There were a bunch of people fishing there but I did not see them doing much of anything. I thought to myself great...I just ran 30 minutes to not get a bite. I looked around the area and found a few spots were the wing was creating channels in the grass. I thought that this moving water would create spots where bass would want to pile up to ambush bait as it came through. the next hting i needed to figure out what was the bait du jour.....I ran through a few baits and then i saw some bait jumping. I matched the color and the action and it was on. The moving water was definitely where they were at. In a matter of a few hours we put about 45 bass in the boat. The biggest 5 weighed in at approx 16.5 pounds. I knew that we were on to something because other boats started to look and figure out what we were using.... I don't know what weight won the tourney but I can tell you that if you were chucking the wrong bait you were getting skunked as was evident by some of the flw boats not even weighing in...go figure...I guess i just got lucky and picked the right bait and habitat to fish. Was a great day out there aside from the slight sunburn I am dealing with. Any way....keep the lines tight....

Ansin/Garcia 04-10-10
Date: 04-10-10
Air Temp: 80
Water Temp: 74
Wind: NE 16 MPH
Water Clarity: 3 ft
We headed out to the north west part of the lake at around 7:30 am. the unfortunate thing was that the wind was blowing and it was difficult to throw the v\bait that I really wanted to throw. None the less, I figure I would throw my favorite search bait...A golden shiner colored Rapala Slash Bait. Within a dozen or so casts I hit the 1st fish. From there it was a fish festival. Nothing on anything other than a golden shiner bait. Mid way through the day I broke my Rapala slash bait and had to switch over to a humpnack XPS bait. I had similar results on this bait as well. Although the fish were not huge Biggest at a little over 4 pounds, they wer plentifule. We boated about 30 fish. They were found in the patches of water cabbage.......
Until next time keep the like tight

Fishing Report 04-04-10
- Date 4-4-10
- Water Temp: 76
- Air Temp: 79
- Clarity: Clear
- Sunny
- Wind: out of the South East 10-15
We figured we would head out for a few hours before Easter Dinner. We hit the watyer at sunrise and motored over to our morning spot. Started piching zooms in the grass and along the reeds lines....After all, I did pretty good with them last week. I did manage to get on on the zooms in this area but the the bites were far and few between. I decided to throw the spinner bait to see if I coul find the fish...That did not work...Then tried fling a slash bait and that did not work either. Finally we decided to pitch jig and pigs at the base of the reeds and let them roll down the secondary structure. This is what the bass wanted to see. It was not a stellar day but we put 15 in the boat. The average size was around two pounds with the biggest topping close to 4....
Finished the day arouns 11:30 as I needed to get back to the house for some honey doos before dinner...
Until next time keep the lines tight.

Blue Cypress Lake Florida Report 03-21-10
Date: 03-21-10
Weather: Sunny later turning to Thunder showers
Water Calrity and Color: Tea
Temp: 72
Water Temp: 66
Wind: se 20
Seeing that the lake is about 70 miles from the house we had to leave pretty early. I had never fished this lake before but had completed some research prior to heading out so I was prepared or at least I thought i was. I wanted to fish the west side of the lake but with the wind howling that was not an option. We headed to the south side of the lake and pretty much spent the day down there. We fish cypress stands, grass, liliy pads etc....The fish were simply not cooperating. I did get a couple in the boat but they were dinks. The wifes uncle got a few a well but were tiny as well. He did get a nice Crappie that we released. I suspect that the front that was coming through turned the fish off but who knows.
I can say that the lake is pretty majestic..and the opspreys nesting in the cypress stands may for an interesting day of teradactyles dive bombing the boat if we got too close. I should have taken a bunch of pics...Next time I suppose...
Not the best day but still better than work.....

Fishing Report
I have a couple of trips to report. I was on vacation and my buddy came down from MA to do some fishing....
I took a couple of pics of him catching a few....
I took a couple of pics of him catching a few....
As you can see one day was a chilly 60 degrees in FL and the other was pretty warm. During each trip we put over 20 bass in the boat. Nothing huge maybe 4 but it was fun. I am glad by buddy had a good time.
All was not great though....My buddy Gary hooked into a bass of about 11-13 pounds and lost it...He seems to do this a lot...I guess he is not used to florida fishing....
We also went out to Garcia Resevoir and only put one fish in the boat...Was right after a cold front....Lost of guys coming up empty on tourney day...At least we got one.....
